Touch Probes

Touch probes are the most traditional probes. They rely on a servo and pin to deploy and stow the probe pin.

BLTouch - The OG probe, wide-compatibilibility, fragile pin, best suited for unenclosed printers.
3DTouch - Clone of BLTouch, available from many vendors, lower cost alternative.
CRTouch - Variant of BLTouch, features a metal probe pin.
MicroProbe - Lightweight touchprobe.

Touchless Probes

Touchless rely on non-physical sensors to probe the bed such as light, induction, or capacitance.

Dockable Probes

Dockable probes are the lightest as they are stored on the printer frame after probing. They are are very simple in design, often based on a simple mouse microswitch. Require a complex klipper macro to support the docking and stowing of the probe.

Klicky - Dockable microswitch probe, features a mouse switch for probe, wide printer support, supports of fixed docking.
Klicky PCB - Dockable microswitch probe, variant of Klicky with a PCB main switch body.
Quickdraw - Dockable microswitch probe.
Euclid - Dockable microswitch probe, PCB main body.
ZeroClick - Dockable microswitch probe for Voron V0.
Unklicky - Dockable probe, high sensitivity conductive probe, many variations for different applications.
SideSwipe - Dockable microswitch probe for Voron V0, features a servo dock.

Nozzle Probes

Nozzle probes utilize the tip of the hotend nozzle to probe the bed. This gives a very accurate probe measurement and do not require and X or Y offset. This also requires that the tip of the nozzle be clean and heated to the ideal temperature before probing. They are best paired with a nozzle wiper.

TAP - Probe designed to allow the X carriage to move in the Z direction for probing, uses a microswitch or optical sensor, often can be found in CNC aluminum or carbon fiber variants.
Boop - Similar to TAP, designed for Printers for Ants, features an optical sensor.
PZ - Nozzle probe featuring a piezoelectric sensor attached to the Revo Voron hotend.
ALPS - Nozzle probe featuring a pressure sensor attached to a Mellow HeatCore, FluxHeat, or V6 hotend.

Bed Scanner Probes

Eddy current probes scan the bed taking rapid height measurements based on the magnetic eddie current reflected from the metal bed.
